Mars Inc. created the candy bar “Raider” in 1967, and released it in the UK because of the princes love for tea and biscuits. It was released in the United States in 1979 and they kept the same name until 1999 when they renamed the product "Twix" a mix between the words "TWin" and "stIX'.

Ever since 1999 Twix has been sold world wide, including the countries Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Turkey. It is one of the worlds favorite candy bar and is ranked as the 12th best chocolate in America and 5th by The Huffington Post. around 43 million are sold each year and Mars Inc. rakes in around $172.4 million dollar in sale of Twix alone annually even though the average Twix only sells for $2. Twix is also both Halal and Kosher certified, meaning that both Muslims (Halal) and Jews (Kosher) are able to eat it!
